The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration (ETA), awards competitive grants designed to enhance the employability, employment and career advancement of people with disabilities through enhanced service delivery in the new One-Stop delivery system established under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA). The Work Incentive Grant program provides grant funds to consortia and/or partnerships of public and private non-profit entities working in coordination with the One-Stop delivery system to augment the existing programs and services and ensure programmatic access and streamlined, seamless service delivery for people with disabilities.
The Work Incentive Grants will allow organizations around the country to meet the specific needs of people with disabilities through collaboration with local One-Stop Career Centers. In many instances, the grantees will provide supportive services, including reimbursement of transportation costs and mobility management services, not currently provided through the One-Stop delivery system. The 2005 funding for this program is $19.7 million.
